Sagada, Mountain region

Sagada is sucha beautiful place. A village high up in the mountain that almost feels like a Canadian mountain retreat. Pine trees everywhere, the distinctive sound of the wind blowing through the needles and a general atmosphere of warm people in a colder place! agada itself is a quite small village and therefore, not much to see. It's really a place where you enjoy a cup of mountain tea for a couple of hours under the sun on the very special balcolny of the yogurt house. Take a long walk to Kiltepan view point to be stuned by the amazing view of the valley. If you're really motivated, you should wake up real early to go enjoy the sunrise. A breahtaking moment. An activity for the non clostrophobic, the cave connection. Totally worth the money. A brillant adventure into the mountain caves of Sagada. It will take about 4 hours. Also take the time to go to Danum lake. The lake itself is not very impressive but the walk itself is very enjoyable. 3 hours approx. If you're looking for lodging: for 200php at the Greenview guesthouse, I got a cozy bed in a really neat house. If you're looking for a little bit more George guesthouse as a more ameneties like WIFI for 350 room. You might try to negociate if you're by yourself. The Shangai Hauz is worth to try. Ask for their best seller. Lemon pie house for a slice of Lemon pie ;-)

All in all, Sagada is the place for a mountain retreat and don't be rushed if you go there. It won't be fun because the most interesting part of that place is really to enjoy the moutain atmosphere! Also, If you're travelling from/to Bontoc or Bsideanaue, make sure you ask the driver to ride top load of the jeepney. You'll sit on the top rack and for 3 hours you'll havve an amazing show. Views everywhere and quite honestly, a ride that is way more confortable then being packed inside!!!

This is true! unless it's raining hard and you'd be soaked wet top loading on the jeepney, then you'd probably rethink your thoughts hehehe Sagada is one of the most charming, beautiful place in the Philippines I think. Batanes is my top choice. But I supposed you are no longer heading that far up north or are you?

Anyhow hoping safe travels and more adventures for you in the Philippines and in the roads you'll take after our country.

    Cille of Penfires =)
