The Real Deal

I've been living at Jonathan & Lucille in San Fernando, Pampanga for the past few days. Lucille a friend of a friend and her boyfriend moved here a couple of month ago. I really got the local treatment here and it's fantastic. We went around to see the family/extended family and it's truly a marvelous experience to travel with a ''local''. I really got the chance to see the off beaten paths villages, be welcomed into houses of Lucille family and basically go around. We've travel in the Pampanga region to Florida Blanca, Guagua, Angeles, Clark and many other plaes. Today, we've went to Subic to seek out adventure and it was not what I expected at all. Subic is what we call a Freeport zone. It's basically bring your business in that zone and there's no tax what so ever to operate your business. So it brings it's fare share of shadyish things. Money that you're not too sure where it comes from and so on. Subic, from my understanding was an old US military base. Baracks, airport, port, etc... And it's quite interesting to see all the buildings abandon there because there's so many of them. It almost feels like an old military movie. Cool things we've seen. Enormous bats and monkey!
